I am trying to copy my Word documents to a floppy and
save them in Works on my new computer. I saved them
in "Rich Text" format but when I put the disk in the new
Windows XP computer, it says the disk is not formatted-
yet I can view them in the old computer. Any ideas? Thanks

98 accepts faulty floppy formats. XP doesn't. Format the floppy before using it. Else use a different floppy drive on one of the computers.

I tried formatting it again and it still did it. Maybe I
need a newer floppy??

Try formatting it in the other computer. Else floppy drives plug in and out and are held in by 4 screws (or so). Use one floppy drive on both machines. If you plug a floppy in upside down the front light comes on and stays on so just reverse the plug (most things in a computer can only physically fit the right way with other things - floppies and cheap hard drive cables are the exception).
