Ok, there are several things that need to be done. First
off, Themes are a server extension, so they will only work
on servers that have the extensions installed. Don't
worry, you can do this though!

First you will want to install a personal web server on
your friend's machine. Typically, you can find this on the
Windows CD. Nex, install the Frontpage extensions.
Finally, you will need to create a web on your friend's
machine and Import the files from the CD. Then your friend
will have a working copy of the site that he can use.

The import function only imports what is seen by a browser, so shared
borders, include files, navigation structure, themes, asp pages, databases,
etc. are not imported. Same in many cases with putting on a CD. You need
to be able to publish from one machine to the other.

Themes do not require FP server extensions. For a list of components that
do, see:

Copying a web to a cd, changes the file attributes to read only. I know when
made a backup copy to cd, and then tried to backup the site to the server,
it would not work. I had to go into the right click on the web folder on the
server and change the attributes to all files in the folder and then I
re-added the site to IIS.
