I've read all the other messages in this group as to how to transfer my PST files, but I have complications.
I have 4 PST files and 1 OST file. The OST File transfer was successful, as was one of the PST files. However, the more important PST files have not transferred and are not recognized as PST files by my new Windows XP (Outlook 2003) laptop. All the files show up with Outlook icons and are shown as Outlook Data Files within properties.
I transferred the files by copying them to CD, then copying them to my new desktop. I've tried this several times thinking it was a bad CD or something didn't copy properly.
I've tried importing the files into Outlook using Data File Management and the Import/Export feature. They don't seem to want to bring in these files.
Is there a limit to the number of PST files I can use?
Can I merge PST files?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I've already spent a couple days on this effort.
