transferring picture files

I'm trying to copy pictures on a CD from my notebook so I can transfer them
to my main file on my main computer.

Everytime I insert a CD-RW a window pops up and says you must insert a CD.
Well, I did and it's not recognizing it. What do I do

Please help! Thanks
