Due to a catastrophic crash of the hard drive in my old computer, all of the
old saved emails in their folders from my old Outlook Express have been saved
to a cd. The question is, how do I get them into my new Windows Mail? The
files seem to be in a format called a DBX File. Can anyone help me?

Thanks,
Sandy

1) Create a folder on the hard drive such as C:\Mail
2) Copy all the dbx files to this folder from the CD.
3) File | Import | Messages | Microsoft Outlook Express 6
Press NEXT

Import mail from an OE6 store directory should be selected.
Press OK

Press BROWSE button

navigate to the C:\Mail folder
Select it.

One thing I've noticed is that when doing this, and pressing Select Folder
button, it will show C:\Mail\Mail which is not what you want.

What I've done is click on Mail, then when it shows in the Folder: line, I
delete it then press Select Folder button and it comes out as C:\Mail which
is what I want.

For some odd reason, being able to type in a direct path was not made
available to us.

After pressing Select Folder, finish out the import.

Thanks, I'll give it a try!
