Transferring home movies

I am very much a beginner when it comes to figuring out
how to connect a vcr or a camcorder to the computer so
that I can being the process of transferring my home
videos to the computer.

I have searched the internet and have used the help and
support section in Windows XP but it just seems to go
round and round. It is confusing and I am getting
frustrated.

I have provided my email address as it would probably be
easier if anyone is willing to help me with this.
