i have created a database (let us call folder B) that is in folderA that is
in Personal Folders. I need to transfer the contacts into another computer
(will do it via jump drive) - both computers XP Pro. Where is folder B? I
have right clicked on folder B but apparently one can only copy within
"Folder List" - have gone to Application Data etc but cannot find it, have
use "Looked for" to no avail - your help very much appreciated. Take care,
David

Unclear question.
Any Folder you create in Outlook will be in your Outlook data file (PST
file).

yes but i only want to transfer Folder B not the 30 folders etc - can i do
this and if not would the alternative be to transfer Outlook.pst file and
then delete all the other folders - as the database will be transferred back
and forth continually this is going to be very laborious - surely there are
"shortcuts"?

You're dealing with a TCP (technologically challenged person) - i don't know
how to create a .pst file and the crrent data is in a folder - thanks. David

It's not hard.
In Outlook: File > New > Outlook Data File (make sure you remember the name
and location of the file you are creating).
Just copy this Folder from your current PST file into the new one you just
created.
Close Outlook.
Copy this PST file and open it in the other installation to access it (File
Open > Outlook Data File).

D:\Documents and Settings\David Mollet\Local Settings\Application

"Outlook.pst", "Outlook backup.pst" and "archive.pst" but databases.pst has
not appeared in the Folder List hence the problem - hope that clear it up.

Any time you export and change file formats you lose some data.
Just copying and opening the PST file is far safer.

that
is
in Personal Folders. I need to transfer the contacts
into
another
computer
(will do it via jump drive) - both computers XP Pro.
Where
is
folder
B?
I
have right clicked on folder B but apparently one can
only
copy
within
"Folder List" - have gone to Application Data etc but
cannot
find
it,
have
use "Looked for" to no avail - your help very much
appreciated.
Take
care,
David
