Anybody have any idea how to restore info backed up with the files and
settings wizard in XP home on a network drive? The easy transfer is not so
easy! Thanks!

As a matter of fact it does relate to Vista, thank you very much. The files
and settings transfer wizard does not seem to be compatible with the new
"Easy Transfer" tool.

So, if I understand correctly, you backed up some files with Windows XP, and
then installed Windows Vista Beta 2. Is this correct? If so, did you
upgrade from XP to Vista or did you install Vista to a separate hard-drive or
a separate partition? If not, your post is confusing and lacking in enough
information for people here to understand your scenario and therefore to help
you.

Correct. You would use the Vista migration tool to move files and settings
from XP to Vista. You would not use the XP FAST wizard.

Sorry for being vague. Nothing personal, but I'm starting to feel sick from
reading your post. I did a clean install of Vista on my primary drive, (from
which I had to remove the RAID array by the way since I couldn't get the
drivers to work correctly with my chipset), removal of the array makes the
drive inaccessible so I decided to go with a clean boot and apparently missed
the information about the migration tool. Okay! So I got a wonderful Beta2 of
Vista running now but I cannot access my files and settings which are
residing are my network drive saved via FAST wizard in XP home. Any
suggestions now that it is too late to backup using the migration tool?

Thank you!
