Transferring domain to new host

having transferred in my domain to a new host, i now find
that the host doesnt actually suppport users in helping
them get there web to appear under that domain name, this
seems strange to me and now am haivng problems findin how
to publish it to my domain rather than just my address at
the host.

You need to find out what their name server is....something like

namerserver1.yourhost.com

Then just have them update the MX record and wait a day or two until
it propagates.

That should do it. Otherwise I agree with the previous response. Get a
new hosting service.
