Transferring disks from one Proliant to another...

Hey,

Scenario:

1 x Proliant DL360 G2
1 x Proliant DL360 G1

They each have an existing Win2k build on them and there's a requirement to
swap the disks from one machine to another (why I have to do it is a long
story - I just need to do it). Each machine has a different array controller
in it - so when I swap the disks each one is going to give me "inaccessible
boot device" blue screens.

How can I alter the existing build on each machine to ensure I can swap the
disks and therefore boot the existing builds when they've moved?

I think it should be a simple thing to do, but all my research on the topic
seems to have pointed me at the "MassStorageController" section in the
sysprep config. This isn't relevant here - the builds are already in place.

Thanks for your help!

Cheers
Steve

Thanks Scott. :-)

I'd prefer to go the "registry priming" route, rather than repairing the
installation. As they are live boxes I don't want to risk changing something
with the repair when all I wanted was the other array controller driver. A
question I have from the second article below - the mergeide.reg stuff only
seems to include IDE drivers? Is there some way to merge the registry
entries for the SCSI drivers?

Thanks again!
Steve

Hmmm, I've never tried that article. Maybe someone else can give advice on
how effective it is.

I usually go for the repair because the machine retains its name/guid/roles,
etc and has been fairly trouble-free for me.
