We just got a new computer and I want to transfer my video clips that are in
my collections in Movie Maker to the new computer. But I cannot for the life
of me figure out how to do it without creating a project and then burning it
all to a disc. I just want the clips to remain separate and transfer them to
the new computer. Any suggestions???

Just go to the folder where they currently are and burn them to a cdr/cdrw
as a data disc. Then copy them to the new computer.

Hi Angela
If you are talking about a full video that Movie Maker has made into clips
you won't be able to copy them as separate clips.
You can copy the entire video to the new computer and when you import it
into Movie Maker again it will recreate the clips for you. If you are
uncertain as to where the clips are actually located then from in your
collections you can right click and click properties. The box that opens up
will tell you the physical location of the video file.

Ideally, it would be great to just save the PROJECT as a data file to CDR,
and feed it to your other PC. When you OPEN a NEW project, all of your
collection clips from prior projects are accessible from within the NEW
project. However; I believe that the source video file is mapped to the
collection clip, so without the data bread crumbs that lead to the original
video file, your home PC probably won't be able to use those clips.
