I'm currently on an XP Pro machine with Outlook 2007. I copied all PST files
(from locations found at
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/outlook/HP100669141033.aspx), but cannot
find how to copy or export account settings. I am a freelancer who regularly
uses about twelve different accounts (many clients want me to use their email
domain) and can't believe I'll have to reenter all of them manually. I don't
need password information to transfer, but do need incoming/outgoing server
names, ports, etc. Is there no way this can be done?!

As previously stated in your other post you cannot transfer accounts,
without the use of third party tools, which if used often cause problems,
particulary when using a different o/s

I found a solution. Again, why this isn't automated is baffling.

Here is the source of the solution:

There are plenty of sites that describe how to export/import the right
registry key:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows
Messaging Subsystem\Profiles\

This site had the crucial extra step -- getting Outlook to use the profile:
Lastly, we need to set Outlook to use the profile from the old machine.

1.Open Control Panel.
2.Open the Mail applet.
3.Click on the Show Profiles button.
4.Choose the profile name that matches the one you used to use from the
"Always use this profile" dropdown.
5.Click OK.

Check the linked site for details (and notes about copying the PST files).
Evertying seems to be working now. I did have to go and manually
export/import rules (and, of course, passwords), but all seems to be fine
now.

Now I'm off to the Word group to figure out how to export all the
customizations. Grrrr... why did they take the transfer wizard out?!
