PCMCIA card? are you using a laptop?

Or do you mean PCI card, for a 'regular' PC? If so you need to buy a firewire
capture card.

Something like this:

(down the bottom of the page is the one you would need for a laptop)
what software do i need?
The above example comes with video capture and editing software.

Connect your camcorder to a firewire port on your computer.
Use a video capture software application.
what kind of PCMCIA card do i need?

Are you using a notebook computer that requires PCMCIA?
Or are you using a desktop computer that likely needs PCI?
Either way you need a Firewire port.
what software do i need?

Video capture application. There are dozens to choose from.

Instructions come with whichever software you select.
