I'm having trouble transfering a powerpoint program that
is on disc to my installed program. I've downloaded it to
my documents, the read only box is not checked, but it
still "cannot open the type of file represented" My P.P
version is 10.0.2627.10.

You might want to try installing the service patch to PowerPoint, and see if that makes a difference

What does the error message say when you try to open your presentation? The file is a PowerPoint (.ppt/.pps) presentation that your trying to open?

The message I get when I try to open the slide show is "
Powerpoint cannot open the type of file represented." And
nowhere are there any files with ppt or pps. I originally
watched the presentation on P.P with animation and all
Then copies were made and I purchased one......and I was
told that if I put it on P.P. that I would get all the
animation.>-----Original Message-----

PowerPoint can only open files that have either a .pps, or .ppt file extension. What is the extension for the file that your are trying to open?

Have you checked with whoever you purchased it from?

It sounds as though perhaps it's protected in some way and you need to do
whatever it takes to unprotect it and/or extract the PPT or PPS file that
PowerPoint can open.

Only the people who sold it to you can give you this info. Let us know what
they tell you, ok?
