Hi,

I upgraded from w98 to xp and I need to transfer my all of
my files, messages, address book, contacts, etc.. to xp. I
can't open outlook 98 in xp so I assume its not
compatable. I would like to import files to outlook
express in xp. Can anyone tell me how to do this? Is there
a wizard in OE? Thank you.

Outlook 98 works in XP - what errors do you get?

To convert to OE, you need to export to OE on the old machine (or one with
OL installed) and move the dbx files to the new one - see tomsterdam.com for
instructions on how to reconect them on the new machine.

Hi Diane,

Thanks for the help. I got Outlook 98 open finally. I was
getting "driver(core)not found winerr=2" message which I
found out was dur to AVG virus software installed so I
deleted AVG. But when I opened Outlook 98 there were none
of my old folders. Please advise if I can copy these
folders back into Outlook and where I can find them.
Thanks for your help.

Search the drive for *.pst and rename the current pst, place your old
one in the same directory and name it the same as the one in the folder
used to be named.

Hi,

I found the following pst files; archive.pst and
outlook.pst located in C:\documents and settings\(my user
name)smacktime\applications. Are these the old files you
are refering to? I can't open them to see if they contain
my e-mail messages and contacts. If these are the files
you are referring to please explain again what I need to
do. Thanks.
