Rules can always be exported to an RWZ file to transfer them or back them
up. But it is not necessary to do so in Outlook 2002 and higher since they
are stored in the PST. If yours did not make the transfer, it most likely
has to do with the version in which the PST was originally created or how
you "copied" the PST.

I'm not quite sure you're right here. The rules does'nt
appear at all if I only copy the *.pst-file. I've found
out though, that if I exported the rules to a *.rwz-file
it was easy to import them and then reset them as you
suggest.
Thanks for taking your time.

Rules are stored with the PST in Outlook 2002. You may simply need to step
through them so they are reset to the new location.

Certainly, it's Outlook 2002 SP2.

Your Outlook version is what is relevant, not your OS.

I've got the same problem as Joe and have copied my
*pst-
file to another computer. All mail and addresses
are
OK
but not the mail rules. How do I transfer mail rules
from
one computer to another?
The OS is Win2k on both computers.
Thanks
Frank

Find your PST. It may be a hidden file on current
operating systems.
Copy it to the other computer.
Configure the Outlook installation on the other
computer
to use it.

I'd like to transfer all my Outlook 2000 data
(Contacts,
Calendar, Notes, and mail folders) from one XP
computer
to another XP computer. I tried to locate a *.pst
file
on
my computer but my search did not find one.
Exporting/Importing to Access or Excel is a pain. Is
there a good way to accomplish the above. I'm not
part
of
a Work Group or on a network.
Thanks,
Joe
