I have just purchased a new laptop. I would like to export my Outlook files
and settings to my new laptop. I have tried Files and Settings Tranfer,
which does not work, I have tried exporting files, but I don't understand how.
Does anyone know how to do this?

Thank you.

Thanks so much, Russ. This is exactly what I was looking for and it worked!
I just wish it was easier to find this info in "help".
Regards,
Roberta

Never export or import. Use those utilities only if you need to change file
formats. You don't.
The file you need is your Personal Folders file (*.pst) It's where all the
mail, calendar, contacts etc are stored.

Take a look at these pages for info on Outlook data backup or transfer:
http://www.slipstick.com/config/backup.htm
http://www.howto-outlook.com/Howto/backupandrestore.htm

The last link is from the Help files. Did it not appear when you queried

Nope, and that was the link that I used and found so useful. Perhaps my
perameters were incorrect, I typed Tranferring Outlook files as my search
request.

Anyway, thanks a million. Setting up a new laptop should be fun, but it
really isn't.
