Hello all, I need some help on how to transfer data into a protected
spreadsheet. Copy and paste is not working because there are some locked
cells in-between the cells I am trying to paste. Here is an example:

A B C
1 P 0 P
2 0 P 0
3 P 0 P

P=Protected cell
0=Unprotected cell where I'm trying to paste data into

My problem is that I can paste data only when the cells are together and
there are no protected cells between them.

Can anyone tell me if there is a way to paste or move the data into the
above cells without having to enter data into each cell manually?
Unfortunately, I can't unprotect the spreadsheet because it's password
protected.

Thank you for your assistance.

If it's for your own use, simply "go around" XL's weak security system.

Select A1:C3
Right click in the selection and choose "Copy",
Navigate to a new WS, and simply "Paste".

You can now do what ever you want with the range you have just copied.

Thanks. My only problem is it needs to be returned to the creater in it's locked format. I do not want to change or modify any of the locked cells, I just want to fill in the data in the unlocked cells by copying and pasting from my own data sheets which in reality go on for pages and pages. As it stands now, I have to enter the data manually, one cell at a time which will take weeks.

If the unlocked cells were grouped together, this would be no problem but having locked cells in the midst of the unlocked cells creates a total nightmare.

Anybody know of a better solution?
