Transfering Blaise data to Access - Clarification

Has anyone had problems transferring data collected in
Blaise format to an Access Database. Data is collected
through an interactive application written in Blaise. The
data is then transferred to a (delimited) txt file and
then the (delimited) text file is imported to Access for
Warehousing. When checking the Blaise key strokes the data
appears to be collected in the correct format [proper skip
patterns] however when we look at the data in access there
is erroneous data in some fields.
Thanks

Is that erroneous data also in the text file that you imported? Perhaps the
problem is with the export of the data. I mean, if the text file is ok..then
I don't see why data would get changed during a import?

Also, you might want to clarify what you mean by erroneous?

In addition, is all your command delimited data surrounded by quotes " "

Perhaps the mess up occurs when data has a " (a quote).

I would look at which record is messed up in the ms-access database, then
open he common delimited file and then find that bad record?

Does that record follow the standard comma delimited format? (as mentioned,
often you cannot have a " in your data..it will mess things up).

So, find that one bad record in the text file, and paste into its one text
file (maybe throw in 2 or 3 other good records). Now, try importing that
tiny file...does it import ok? So, give the above a try, and test if you can
import just a few records..and include the bad record. Does that work ok?

I suppose the file could also have some invisible control characters..and
that could be a source of trouble. As mentioned, try the cut and paste
idea..and see what happens.
