I recently purchased a new computer. It now has Windows Vista (which has
been a major problem with compatability issues) and Microsoft Mail. My old
computer had Windows XP and Outlook. I would like to transfer all of my
contacts and information from Outlook to Windows Mail. Is that possible?

A couple ways you can do this.

You can attempt to put the hard drive from the old computer into your new
Vista computer temporarily. When you do import from Mail, it may be able to
detect the outlook account off the old hard drive and import messages.

If that doesn't work, you can copy the .PST files from outlook to your new PC
\\docs & settings\user\Local\App Data\Microsoft\Outlook\ (Something like
that)

Install outlook on the new PC and import the PST. Warning, Outlook 2000 or
earlier may not work on Vista. Outlook 2000 would not work for me in Vista.
If that is what you have, then download the free trial of Office 2007 from
microsoft.com. Use that to import the PSTs.

Once you have that done, open up mail and import from outlook account. All
done.

If contact don't come over, you can always export them into a comma
seperated text file (CSV) from outlook. Mail / Windows Contacts can import
that format.
