is outlook contact data stored in Outlook?

Have tried file export on my laptop. Somehow data ends up in Excel. Nothing
prompts me to export to Outlook. Help would greatly be appreciated. Thanks

Thanks for your reply, Russ.

I just ran a search on “*.pst†and “Personal Folders†on my laptop, nothing
comes up in either case. I then went to Start-My computer-C:\- program files
–Office 2003- Outlook but was unable to locate any .pst or personal folders
file. What am I doing wrong.?

All I know is when I click on the outlook icon on my laptop followed by a
click on contacts, the 88 entries I entered appear. Those are the contacts I
am trying to transfer to my desktop computer. I’ll check out the 3 links you
forwarded in the hopes of finding some answer. Thanks again, Ron

Just copy your Outlook data file and open it in the other installation.
The file you need is your Personal Folders file (*.pst) It's where all the
mail, calendar, contacts etc are stored.

Take a look at these pages for info on Outlook data backup or transfer:

Did you enable the search to include hidden files?
