In attemtp to bypass the problems of using WMM, saving it once, then burning
it to dvd, I am trying another (snafu?) method...
I have my WMM original file on the toshiba. Both it and the LiteON have
firewire. My goal was to play the original WMM show and 'simply' send it to
the DVDburner (does all formats).
I was able to select the front input firewire port, on the setup of the
LiteON.
Found no apparent 'switch' or option on the toshibs to 'turn on' its
firewire port, figured it was just live like USB....
Well, great idea, no recorded info.........Arrrrrghhh.
Now what. Is/should there be an option to turn on or enable the port on the
Toshiba? Since I never used firewire am flying blind there....
In 'normal' recording the LITEon works fantastic recording videos..
Hopefully

It should be 'on'.....

Right click on My Computer and select Manage. On the following screen,
click on Disk Management. Does the LiteOn appear on the right hand side of
the screen? If so, can you assign it a drive letter?

Sorry did not work.... Tried to assign the LITEonDVDR in several catagories
but no luck. And no luck finding a 'driver' at LITEon site to bypass any
prestored info buried inside WinXP...
Still treading water and I be slowly sinking!!!!!!!

Does it work if you connect it via USB (preferable USB 2.0)?

Does anything else work with the firewire port on the notebook... like a
digital camcorder (borrow one from a friend perhaps just to test)?
