transfer of data

is it possible to transfer data from a 3.5 floppy disc
which has been written in microsoft works onto XP so that
i can put the information onto cd discs.my computer keeps
telling me that the 3.5 disc needs formatting.

Very much possible if you have a CD R/W drive. Open the files you need to be
copied onto the CD in explorer and in the left pane you should get an option
to write them onto your CD.
