I want to take my existing ,acros and transfer them to a
new computer. I am using word 97 and will be upgrading to
a new system with windows xp and the new word.

Thanks

Under normal circumstances, all of your Macros will
be in NORMAL.DOT!
Make a copy and REPLACE the new NORMAL.DOT
on your new machine.

Macros are saved in templates, Normal.dot if you haven't chosen another one.
I wouldn't advise copying your Word 97 Normal.dot into XP, but you can use
Organizer to copy your macros from your old Normal.dot (give it a different
name for this purpose) into the new Normal.dot.

I want to take my existing macros and transfer them to a

Open the Macro editor, select and copy the macros. Paste them
into a text file. Puyt the text file on a floppy or CD.

On the new computer, open the desired template, open the VBA
editor and just PASTE the contents of the text file into the
macro area.

You can also export them as a BAS project, and IMPORT that file
into a new template on the new computer.
