Transfer file over VPN

I need to move a zip file across a wan that is connected via cisco vpn.
From the client workstations I can use regular file system object
commands like MoveFile to send files to the server. But moving files
from the server to the remote workstations is less simple, the
workstations are not "visible" to the server in quite the same way. How
can I solve this type of situation? I've had little exposure to this
sort of stuff, as I'm sure is obvious from my simplistic description of
the scenario. Any pointers, from general approaches to specific articles
or products, will be helpful.

I'm using Access 2000 for this. I've seen the stuff on the mvps.org
website; I'm not sure if ftp'ing over the vpn is the right approach to
take; I doubt the server is set up as an ftp server. Could be I
guess...is that the best route to take (ftp) or are there other avenues
I should investigate.
