I have been working with a computer over the past few
years, and now I want to upgrade - more memory, more
speed, etc. How can I, short of forwarding all of my
emails from one computer to another (in essence, re-
emailing all of my thousands of emails), transfer all of
my emails from my old computer to the new one. Can the
files be saved onto a disk, say a zip, and be loaded onto
the new computer? Please advise, if anyone can help...

Thanks,
Dale

Copy your pst-file to the new computer. If you do this by CD-ROM make sure
you remove the "read only" file property after you copied the file back to
the harddisk.

To locate your pst-file;
Make sure you include hidden and system files and folders when searching for
pst-file.

By default it is located in
C:\Documents and Settings\%username%\Local Settings\Application
Data\Microsoft\Outlook\

You can also locate the file by using
Rightclick the root folder (probably Outlook Today)-> Properties-> button
Advanced-> field Filename

Assuming OL, copy *.pst(s) to cd, from cd to hd, ensure read only is off
before in OL File/Open/pst browse to pst
PS 'thousands of emails' hope they're not in a single pst

Sorry, of course you need to open the pst-file on the other computer as
well;
File-> Open-> Outlook Data File..
