transfer Calendar infor from outlook to vista mail

From the posts in this forum, it appears that there is not a way to transfer
calendar information from outlook to vista. I would think that Microsoft
would make their programs compatible. Has anyone found a simple way to do
this?

It would appear that the only format Windows Calendar will import is ics.
The easiest option therefore would seem to be to open a GMail account,
import your Outlook calendar to that, then export as an ics file, which
Windows Calendar can then import.
