does anyone know where to locate the "tracking tab" in the
sent folders of MS Outlook 2000? I have been trying to
figure out how to receive a message back once an e-mail
has been delivered. thanks.

You need to enable this per message on the Options of the mail or set it as
default in Tools-> Options-> E-mail Option-> Tacking Options

Please note that the Tracking tab on the sent item will only be available in
Exchange Environments when the receipt is read in the Inbox and deleted
permanently

thank you for the quick reply. Unfortunately, I do not
understand the second part of your reply.

I have checked the option under "tracking options" to
request a delivery receipt for e-mail messages sent.
Problem is - I am not recieving any notification via e-
mail when they are delivered.

If I check the option requesting notification when the
message is READ - I do recieve an e-mail saying the
message was read.

I would prefer, however, to get a message once the e-mail
was delivered.

Your thoughts??

Unfortunately not all servers support this functionality. Probably for the
better or you could just trash the server with loads of requests and it will
use its resources to reply as well. Read receipts however are processed by
the client if the client supports the functionality and the receivers allows
it to send a read receipt you will receive a receipt.

The second part I was talking about is a special feature for Exchange
environments (Exchange is a corporate mailserver which has lots of extra
features when used in a LAN with Outlook); when you receive a receipt the
send item processes it and when you open the item you'll see an extra tab
with an overview of the received receipts.

I did all that stuff and I do get receipts but I still don't have a tracking tab on the original sent message. What am I doing wrong. Please help

Like I metioned before; you won't get that tab unless you are in a corporate
Exchange environment.

Tracking doesn't depend on Exchange, only on the recipient sending back responses.
