Hello

Would anyone has the same problem that i have? It seems my All in Wonder
card can't deal with some of my VHS home movies i want to save on DVDs. I
get a jumping white line on the top of the screen, and there is no way i can
get rid of it. It doesn't happen to all my tapes, maybe 50% of them. When i
put the VCR directly to the TV, the image is perfect.

Would it be my card that is defective?

Thanks, I know i've been asking this around a couple of time, but I am at
the point where i think buying another card, a cheaper one that does the job
(my friend is transfering my tapes on his computer using a 60$ card and the
quality is very good)

What resolutions/formats have you tried recording too and what
resolution/format is your friend using?

IIRC some of your recordings were ep/lp. As a test, try capturing using the
AVI Recording(128X96) setting. Its even lower resolution than the vcr tapes
but eliminates compression.

I've not had this problem but all of my tapes are sp.

look up a previous thread a week or so ago. the ati card is very senstive
and sometimes mistakes old vhs tapes as having macrovision protection.
either that, or just select 'crop video' in the recording preset you are
using.
