Tracking monthly commissions by salesperson

Has anyone built a database that will accept a monthly EXCEL spreadsheet of
all sales generated and "match" them with a customer database? Currently, I
work off 2 excel spreadsheets, one is our customer list with salesperson
info, the other is our sales journal. I cross reference the 2 to come out
with one giant spreadsheet, manually put in the commission percent, then sort
by sales person, then pay the salesperson. If ACCESS could inport my sales
journal each month and match it with the salesperson it could save 3 days of
manual work. Any ideas?
 
Rather than importing each month decide ona file name that you will always
save the Excel as and then go to Access menu FILE - Get External Data - Link.
Link the Excel files.
