Hi there,
We have a Win2000 server (no Active Directory) and a handful of winXP
clients (each with individual user names).
All company documents are stored on a shared drive on the server.
Does Win2000 have tools to see if a particular user copied a file to a
floppy or printed a particular document, or do you need 3rd party software?
Thank you,
Bob

There is no way to do that natively in W2K. All you can do is enable
auditing of object access and then audit access to files/folders for
read/write/delete, etc. A copy operation would be a write somewhere else,
but you can not audit floppy drives. I don't know of any third party
software and even so that would not be foolproof. Someone could use
printscreen, copy into existing document, copy to email, or even photograph
the monitor screen. --- Steve
