While looking through the the list under C:/Program Files, I noticed a folder
called TpScrex. I have no idea where this came from or what it does. My
computer is home built and I don't recall installing it. Can anyone give me
more information on what this thing is and if it's OK to uninstall it?

Purely for your amusement, upload the file to virustotal.
While not a guarantee, it might give you some idea as to
whether it is evil or not.

Otherwise, use your favorite search engine, to search for that program.
Some malware uses random sequences of letters, for executables, and
when you can't find the program name in a search, that is a giveaway
it is malware. In this case, I can find it in a search engine, so
run it through virustotal and see what you get.

I uploaded the file to virustotal, and here is the result:

CAT-QuickHeal 10.00/20091119 found [TrojanDownloader.Couly.c].

(Other malware scanners at virustotal didn't identify anything malicious.)

So... I am going to delete this unknown entity.
