I'm thinking that PowerPoint would be a good application to use in
conjunction with a Touch Screen monitor (kiosk). I searched this forum for
something on this topic and didn't come up with anything. Has anyone done
anything using PowerPoint with a Touch Screen? Does anyone have any
recommendations on a good Touch Screen monitor that would work with
PowerPoint?

Luke,

Powerpoint does make a great touchscreen app.

I found it best when the touchscreen was set to just "emulate a mouse".

You can set powerpoint to response to clicks on a certain area/button so it works well with touchscreens. Just remember
to set each slide "not to advance on mouse click" and the "standard" back / forward buttons and you're all set.

TAJ, it looks like Luke was talking about the actual
Touch Screen monitor to use, not PPT software.
Any suggestions?

One other application-side suggestion (TAJ mentioned this,
but not in detail) is to go to Slide Show | Set Up Show...
and select "Browsed at a kiosk (full screen)."

Hmmm, just re-read Luke's post - I guess he
wants info about PPT using touch screens too.
Sorry about that.

Unless I'm totally out to lunch (and if so, it's WAY too late at night for me
to be out) a touch screen, properly installed, should appear to be a mouse to
Windows, and likewise to any apps running under Windows.

IOW, there shouldn't be anything special you need to do in PPT other than
perhaps to allow for the fact that people will be "clicking" with their fingers
(50 pixels wide, maybe?) instead of the 1 or 2-pixel wide mouse pointer; it'd
be wise to make the links/action shapes accordingly larger.

Most can be set either way...

Like a graphics tablet.....

if you click a spot with a pen...the cursor jumps to that spot.
if you set it the other way

if you click a spot with a pen nothing happens....if you drag the pointer...the cursor will move that amount.

THANKS for the information!

Absolute vs relative, gotcha. Tanks!
