Touch Pad COMPAQ 800

During typing, sometimes my thumb touch the touch pad
incidently, so I use an extra USB mouse.And I want to
disable the touch pad so it will not disturb during typing
because of touching incidently.

How to disable it? I already try to open the device driver
in the control panel but I can't find this hardware
profiles.

Laptops can usually have their touchpads disabled by
either disabling them in Device Manager or in the BIOS
setup
 
Very often notebook manufacturers deliver a tool for that purpose. On my
toshiba I do have such a tool that enables a hotkey to turn the touchpad
on or off.
Maybe there exists such a tool for your compaq, too. Check the CDs
delivered with the system, and also the compaq website.
