Malke, you once gave me the link on Elephant Boy with instructions on
completely removing NSW. It has captured my Dragon Personal files
(speech in-put training)--I found them in the NSW trash bin--but then
removed NSW, and its happened again (after a total of 41 hrs of
dictation training!!!). I suspect NSW is still on my computer.

Thank you.

The Protected Recycle Bin is a "last chance" type of situation to save files
deleted by yourself, programs or the system. Find out what is actually
deleting the files.

Naturally, that is what I'm trying to do.

I'm not certain what removing Norton SystemWorks has to do with you losing
files. Removing it is not going to give you the answer, but it may/will
prevent you from getting them back if they are again deleted.

What exactly are you trying to do here, and why do you feel that Norton is
playing a part in files being deleted?

Because I once found them in the Norton's Trash. That software has been
removed from all our municipalities, in fact. It ruined one computer,
and I don't what it happening again--and didn't install it or I would
have refused to do so.

thank you.

Norton is only catching the files that are not caught by the regular Windows
Recycle Bin. It does a much more thorough job of it.

Since 2002 the only part of anything Norton I will install on "any" machine
is the Norton Protected Recycle Bin. It has saved my customers a few times,
AND it never has to be updated. After the initial install I turn off
automatic updates and remove the live update link from every folder in the
start menu.

It just works.

Again, look elsewhere to find out what is deleting your files. It is not
Norton!
