Yes, I know there are Microsoft Groups. But I like you guys, and I don't
necesarily like them....

When my computer boots up (Win XP Home Edition), sometimes there are 10-12
icons in the "tray" (that place next to the clock), and some times there are
4 or 6 or 7 or 9. I check to see if the services are running that SHOULD
have an icon there, and they are - just no icon.

I find this odd. Why are there some icons there SOMETIMES and not OTHER
TIMES? How does my computer decide when they are going to show up and when
they aren't? How come some used to show up all the time, and now NEVER show
up?

This is so very strange, but hey, it's Microsoft, ain't it?????

Just wondering.

Right click your Taskbar, hit Properties, hit Customize, then
individually set Behaviour for specific icons. I've found these to
change after installs,

This is an XP sys tray bug, usually associated with auto log ons
