Does anyone have a download link for Total Uninstall v2.34?

The only ones I find all point to the Simtel site, and I can't get from
there for some reason (perhaps something to do with my browser
settings).

Thanks in advance..

A workaround for this general situation would be installing Kmeleon.
Installation is a not a big commitment: Kmeleon is small and clean.
Then when you have to deal with a place like Simtel, trust in Kmeleon
to tread that dark forest. Leaving your regular default browser's
security settings intact. Another benefit is that Kmeleon will give
an URL for you to copy out, in you want one for your download manager.

I usually use Firebird and I can't download anything from simtel,
So after reading your message I downloaded K-meleon, but I still can't
get anything...
it says the page has been loaded but I still wait for my download to
start automatically.

Hi Karen. I already got Total Uninstall thanks to a link Zo posted, but
Kmeleon sounds like a good idea. I've always liked these *light*
programs that often do a better job that the bloated ones. I'll check it
out.

Another way is right click on the download link>Copy Shortcut>paste
into browser>hit enter.

I've been using an older version of Total Uninstall, and have been
trying to update for a while now.

So why didn't you just click on the link in TotalUninstall's "About"? Which
is reached by clicking on "martS" in the lower right hand corner of TU. You
can also find the home URL in the program's "Options".

Bonjour Xavier,

When I first read your message, my thought was that you had immediately
followed your K-Meleon install with configuring its settings to something
to strict, for instance javascript off...

Yet I've not done an install of KM8, to a fresh directory, to see what its
default settings are. I ran it at the defaults, and the Simtel experience
was not only a failure - the no download URL that you report - but also ugly.
Simtel popups, Kmeleon messages about ad servers that it can't load, etc.

So I closed it, reset to the preferences that I normally use with Kmeleon,
and then everything worked well. After the adjustment, the Simtel process
went like this:

<http://www.simtel.net/pub/dl/61416.shtml>
redirects to: <http://www.simtel.net/product.download.mirrors.php?id=61416>
Then click to choose a mirror.
Following the click, the Kmeleon download box pops up with the URL
filled in.
(From there I can continue to let Kmeleon download, or can interrupt it
in order to copy out the URL somewhere else.)

These are the preferences I configured:

General: Javascript = yes
(java = no)

Privacy: Image loading & Cookies = site only, no external servers
Popup control = block popup windows

For my serious browsing sessions, I happen to favor the tabbed programs
from the MSIE family... Same time, for most javascript sites and for
financial transactions, I depend on the Mozilla family...

As a light and robust warrior, it's K-Meleon who shines bright. I'm glad
to hear, PB, that you're going to give this good lizard a look.

(For me, after a long evaluation of many candidates, I've even honored KM
with role of default http:\\ handler.)

thank you Omega, I' ve tried again with your settings. I had to disable
proxomitron to let the popup pops, and the download box required I
accept a new remote port around 41000 in Kerio, but now it works fine :)

thx again

Simtel's screwy tricks are such a messy mix of malice and incompetence,
it can be quite a task to reconfigure everything to deal with them. Good
to hear of your success!
