Unable to discover correct removal technique
for keyboard and/or covers.

All visible screws removed in bottom plate.
also removed: HD, DVD Battery, Heat sink

Top plate appears to be held by something in
area where corner of battery and HD intersect
with S3 & F16 screws (11.5 cm from front)

No screws hiding under labels that I've found.
No visible tabs around keyboard. (without
aggressive prying)

Computer sustained water damage and I've been
unable to get inside to inspect.

Anyone had experience with this? Suggestions
appreciated.

This site has a few disassembly pictures of some Toshiba laptops:

http://www.irisvista.com/tech/laptops/ToshibaA55/SatelliteA55_remove_keyboard.htm

Maybe Toshiba uses similar construction techniques for the A40 ?

Thank-you VERY much. The A55 does indeed look similar to the A40.
I'll try this and let you know.

The A55 link was the answer. I was able to get under the keyboard and
follow the water trail onto the main board. Doesn't look very good,
lot's of corrosion.

Thanks for your help.
