Since this is a freeware group I would like to know what is being used to
download torrent files?
I have never used this way of downloading before and would like to try.
I downloaded Bittorrent and installed it..First thing it did was ask for a
donation. This is not exactly in the spirit of this group.
Would like to know where to find software and how do I download it from
there?
Greetings from Eskay.

Greetings from Eskay.

The client I use is Burst! available here:
http://krypt.dyndns.org:81/torrent/index.phtml

Another very popular client is BitTornado available here:
http://bittornado.com/

Once you have chosen a client and installed it, you can find .torrent
files here: http://www.legaltorrents.com/ and any number of other
sites.

An excellent FAQ regarding Bit Torrent and how it works, how to use
it, etc. is hosted here: http://dessent.net/btfaq/

Why, what's wrong with a polite request for a donation? Bram Cohen created
the fantastic BitTorrent technology. The software is still free, he is just
asking that you consider making a donation to support his work (a good
idea; I did, by the way).

Over time I found that the Azureus client has more of the functionality I
needed so I switched to it

The first and only I have tried is ABC Bit Torrent. I have no idea how
it stacks up to the others but I like it.

I can second that. Have used it for months with no problems at all.

I've tried several of them including burst, azeurus, and torrentstorm.
The one I've ended up using is called bitspirit. It's easier to use for
me then azaureus which I never could get working but has many features.
