Topic VS Reply

Every Time I post a topic, it shows up as a reply, below
someone elses topic. Why?

I am sure not to use the reply button, or to highlight a
topic when I reply, but it still shows as a reply, not a
topic, Why?

Because you're using the crappy CDO interface. Avail yourself of a decent
newsreader and ditch it. Also you appear to be confused, you state you wish
to start a new thread, not reply to an existing, but you go on to say "I am
sure not to use the reply button....when I reply". What is it that you're
attempting to accomplish?

Thanks very much for your reply. My confusion was becouse
when I sent a topic, I now see that it does not have the
expand button next to it untill someone replies to it. I
was just confusing topics with and without the expand
button as topic vs reply posts. Sorry.

Which newsreader do you recomend? Where can I download it
from? How can I verify that I am currently "using the
crappy CDO interface"?

Another subject: I want to hookup with someone to workout
connection issues in REMOTE ASSISTANCE. Anyone wishing to
assist reply here or to (e-mail address removed)
 
We can confirm you are using the CD Interface by looking at the source
of your message which says: "X-Newsreader: Microsoft CDO for Windows 2000"

To keep things simple ... assuming you have Windows XP, you have Outlook
Express which is a perfectly good newsgreader.

where they rerfer to "NNTP newsreader" (NNTP being the name of the news
protocol which drives newsgroups).
