I am running Outlook2000 under WinXP on an IBM laptop. I
have had some problems with email accounts recently. In
discussions with ISP "tech support", they constantly talk
about "Accounts", not "Profiles". When we are exploring
server settings, they tell me to go to
Tools/Accounts/etc. But there is no "Accounts" in my
Tools menu. My Tools menu looks the same as it did in
Outlook97 and Outlook98, i.e., profile management is done
via "Services". We (tech support rep and I) are able to
find common ground when I navigate through services and
then pull up properties for the relevant Internet Email
service. Most techs state that they have never
encountered an Outlook2000 instance set up this way, i.e.,
with Services. I have used Outlook for a long time on a
half dozen different machines. I never seen Outlook set
up any other way than Tools/Services ...
Any explanation would be helpful.
