Toolbars with Word as email editor

When using Word as an email editor I can neither stack or resize toolbars. (I like to have them all on the same line but Word, when evoked from Outlook, doesn't let me do that

In addition, I can't use the resize handle to collapse them

Am I missing something or is this a glitch. I've been all over every option menu but haven't found a solution.

Are the toolbars the way you want them if you open Word itself? The
Normal.dot template in Word should control both new Word documents and new
WordMail messages...

Yes the toolbars are fine in Word.

I guess the only issue in Outlook email is that they can't be resized with sizing handle, so if I have 2 toobars, Outlook forces me to keep them on separate lines. Same with the menu bar.

Their inability to be placed on the same line just takes up a little too much screen real estate for my taste.

I see. Unfortunately, I don't have any other ideas on this one...it may
just be the way things are.
