Hey all,
I have two questions here;
1. Can the waving flag in IE6-OE6 be changed to the "Spinning Globe"
that is on my 98 machine? If so, please explain..
2. I have a woodgrain toolbar wallpaper on my 98 machine and
want to put it on this new XP PRO. I have a copy of the bitmap
from the 98 tbwallpaper..
I found the below instructions
and wondered if they look safe to use.. I am comfortable in the
Registry.
Here is what I found:
******************
Toolbar bitmap
With IE4+ installed you can define a bitmap to be displayed behind your
toolbars, in explorer and internet explorer:
a.. Open regedit and find the key
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Toolbar;
b.. Select, and on the right, rightclick and add a new string value, name
it "BackBitmap";
c.. Rightclick on it, choose modify;
d.. Specify the path to your bitmap (.bmp !) and close.
If you've got IE5 installed, the BackBitmap still works then. But you may
insert another string value called "BackBitmapIE5". The normal one will work
for your general explorer windows; the new bitmap is specific for IE5 and
Outlook!
Running IE6, or using Windows XP, though it comes with IE6, the
BackBitmapIE5 value is still the same, but the string value for the explorer
toolbar is now called "BackBitmapShell" (same key). Still, BackBitmap works
too.
This was posted on Google search. I just want to make sure it won't mess
anything up..
Thanx as always,
