I had to re sign with verizon, well I never install the extra toolbars, but
somehow this snuck in.
Is there a way to get rid of it?

There is nothing in the add remove programs

Are you referring to the very top of an IE window where it says something
like "Internet Explorer - provided by Verizon"?

hello
This would be a tool bar similar to yahoo, google, that would be situated
under the address bar. it is the verizon broadband toolbar.
I thought by uninstalling verizon software it might go.
I realize that I can hide it by going to view and unchecking, I prefer to
get rid of it all together.

It is my understanding even though hid, that it still loads?
thanks Bruce

Now that you can connect using Verizon DSL, you don't need *any* Verizon
software installed. Uninstall anything with the name Verizon in it that you
find in Add/Remove Programs.

NB: Keep the Verizon CD handy. Should you ever need to re-configure your
router/modem or DSL connection, you'll need to install all the stupid crap
again. I speak from experience.

Personal experience with a Verizon install? I don't have the current "at&t
Yahoo! HSI" install disk. I did not get an "SBC Yahoo! DSL Service" install
disk. I did not install anything from the ancient "PacBell DSL" install
disc. I set up an "SBC Yahoo! DSL Service" account, and an "at&t Yahoo! HSI"
account without installing anything from those CDs. It should be possible to
set up Internet service without resorting to ISP CSs; after all, most only
provide Windows CDs. How do people with Mac (OX9/OSX) and Linux set up ISP
accounts?

Are you questioning my personal, professional experience, Norman? Have
/you/ set-up a Verizon DSL account?

Well, yes. I guess I am.
Have /you/ set-up a Verizon DSL account?

That is why I asked...

I've had to set up residential- and business-Verizon DSL accounts and
configure the Verizon-supplied modems (you must use theirs) in several
customer locations, and have had to do it again on two (2) of them. It
simply cannot be done without using the Verizon CD and having to install
just about everything on it, save the ISP-provided security suite, to (1)
set up the DSL account and (2) configure the modem. Once it's up & running,
all of it can be uninstalled, including Verizon toolbar, Help and
SmartBridge, with no negative affects.

Verizon is not AT&T (née SBC née PacBell/SoutheastBell).

I guess it is good not to be in Verizon territory. Sounds like you *must*
use only Windows, and can't bring your own modem to the party.

Verizon can be installed without all there stuff.
But with this new modem, the tech person said to do the general install
rather than the option install
( I knew better, but she said it would not install yahoo, msn, nor verizon
stuff. Good thing I stopped short of the full install)
But, the tool bar is there, uninstalled there software, the tool bar is
still there, and nothing is in the add/remove programs for verizon.
If I reset the browser settings will it get rid of the toolbar?
