Windows XP SP2 and IE 6.0.2900.2180

I have several tool bars for IE. I want to display some and hide others.
However, when I select (right click and select) the one i want, but other
toolbar shows.

i remembered it can be fixed inside the registry but cannot recall how to do
it in detail. can you help? thanks.

It is not unheard of.
I have a friend who has a mismatch with Yahoo and Google bars
but she is quite able to manage the situation and told me not to
bother investigating.
No spyware, parasites or adware present. The machine was clean.

You can try this to see if the toolbars get reset:

I've been seeing this on my WinXP-SP2 system with IE 6, as well as my
Win2k-SP4 system with IE 6.
My Win2k has the Google toolbar and Norton AntiVirus toolbar switched up in
"View -> Toolbars -> {toolbar name}"
My WinXP has the Google toolbar and SnagIt toolbar switched up.

Hmmm, the common element here is Google's toolbar.
I've emailed Google Tech Support with this issue and have yet to get a
response.

But, I've searched the registry hi and lo to no avail.
Toolbars are managed by CLSID and cryptic HEX values.

If Google responds, I'll post it here.
If you are seeing Google's toolbar mixed up with one of your other toolbars,
perhaps submitting a question to Google Tech Support will light a fire.

This worked for me ...

Thank you for your note. It sounds as if the Microsoft Internet
Explorer's
"View" menu is misidentifying your toolbars. You can correct this
problem
by visiting http://toolbar.google.com/fixmenu and clicking on the "Reset
IE's toolbar menu" button.
If we can assist you further, please let us know.

The Google Team
