Toolbar options

I keep an empty folder on my desktop to hold files I have downloaded
until I can work on them or for temporary storage etc. With xp this
folder's toolbar had an "X" icon for deleting any highlighted files.
For some reason I can't find this in Vista.
Please help if you can.

I'm getting lazier than even I thought and just didn't want to do the
extra click.
