Following a long overdue update to IE 7 from 6 on XP - I am having thesame
problem on several machines (oddly not ALL). And (at least in my case) itis
NOT a full screen (F11) issue -- pressing F11 does nothing. I join Margy in
asking for HELP!
Here is something from MS that involve a little registry edit.
Note that you will be deleting the ITBarLayout registry entries that
may have gotten fouled up. They will be recreated the next time you
run Explorer, or IE.
Close all open Internet Explorer and Windows Explorer windows.
Click Start, and then click Run.
In the Open box, type regedit, and then click OK.
Locate and then click the following registry subkey:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Toolbar
Use one or both of the following steps, as appropriate for your
situation:
* For Windows Explorer: In the details pane, locate the Explorer
subkey, and then open it. In the details pane, locate the ITBarLayout
value. Right-click this value, and then click Delete.
* For Internet Explorer: In the details pane, locate the
WebBrowser subkey, and then open it. In the details pane, locate the
ITBarLayout value. Right-click this value, and then click Delete.
On the File menu, click Exit to exit Registry Editor.
There is also an ITBarLayout entry in the ShellBrowser key. If the
above doesn't work, delete that one. You can delete all three
ITBarLayout entries if you are so motivated. They get recreated with
default values.
Now... how did this happen?
What a crafty thing for some malware to do. Download Malwarebytes
