Toolbar items not bold, unable to click on

I have no idea what has happened. Recently someone was on my pc using
Microsoft Word (2003) and now when I try to use it the toolbar items when I
try to view or do anything are not "bold" so I cannot do much of anything. I
cannot even view my editing toolbar. Most of the menu items are not "bold"
which makes it so that I cannot click on them. Has anyone else had this
problem. I have tried everything. I cannot customize my toolbar because I
cannot click on customize...

Has Word been activated?
Repair Word from the original installation CD and see also
