Hi

I have an image that i want to use as a toolbar image. Its been created with
a transparent background in Photoshop. I have tried saving it to both a png
and a gif format and loading them into an image list and reference that for
toolbar button images.

In either case whenever i display it in the image is rendered with blue
swiggles/distortions around it. I believe this is because of the
transparancy as the image displays fine in a webpage.

What is it about Windowsforms that renders my images so poorly?

Any ideas?

Thanks

O.k ive done some more digging. Its an Alpha channel problem that seems to
be confined to the Add Method of the Imagelist. Apparently there is a bug in
this method which means that the image/pixel data isn't properly translated
when pulling an image, that uses Alpha channels for transparacy, into the
list.

The blue squiggles around the fringe of the image are the resulting fallout
from this bug and its improper translation of the alpha channel blending.

The work around is to use a native call to load the images into the
imagelist. In other words by pass the framework..again.

So basically just another piece of crap from Microsoft. Sorry i thought they
said we could "more" productive with this platform.
