I have a few custom toolbar buttons, but I would like to change the icons on
them. It seems Word will allow you to chose from a limited list or create
your own with little squares. Is there any way to be able to browse through
a list of .ico files I have on my drive?

Thank you...seems to be enough there to keep me busy! It's a shame that
there isn't just a browse button.

| You can use Windows Find\Search to look for *.ico. See also

Search Google for Icon Editor. Some of these will sour your Windows folders
for Icons and save them to a new file.

Thank you. I have already hundreds of .ico files. I know how to find them.
How to I get Word to find them?

You have to open the icon in an icon editor and then paste them onto a
button face in Word.

Thank you, Terry. I used the template download suggested by Suzanne
Barnhill and now at least I have a couple of hundred from which to choose.
Thanks to you & all! Now if somebody could help me with my "run outside
application with a toolbar button "(posted 12/29)

Thank you, Terry. I used the template download suggested by Suzanne
Barnhill and now at least I have a couple of hundred from which to choose.

The article Suzanne referred to was very informative... and
it also brought up something I've noticed lately on my home
Win98 (word 2000) and work XP. It seems that some images
that are supposed to have a white background have a gray or
black background when I paste them into word. Why does that
occur? It doesn't seem to matter if they are floating or
not.

TIA

The only guess I might have (and probably not a good one) would be something
in the appearance tab of desktop properties. Better let the MVPs handle
this one!
